Taper Coach privacy policy

Taper Coach is a marathon training app for iPhone and Apple Watch, published by 121.coffee (VAT no. 01901480887). It is built so that your data stays on your device. There is no account, no advertising and no tracking, and we do not collect, store or sell your personal data on any server.

Data the app uses

• Apple Health: with your permission, the app reads workouts, heart rate, resting heart rate, heart rate variability, VO2max and sleep to build and adapt your plan, and saves your recorded runs and routes back to Health.
• Location: used while you run to record route, distance, pace and elevation, to plan routes from where you are, and to look up local weather.
• Calendar: used to find free time and to add sessions to a "Taper Coach" calendar on your device.
• Motion: cadence and barometric elevation changes during runs.
• Notifications: reminders before sessions.

Plans, runs, routes and settings are stored only in the app's storage on your iPhone (and on your Apple Watch during a workout). You can export all of it as a JSON file, or delete it, from the app's Settings. Deleting the app deletes this data.

Third-party services

• Apple (Maps directions, on-device Apple Intelligence) under Apple's privacy policy.
• Weather: your approximate location (rounded to about 100 m) is sent to Open-Meteo to fetch the forecast.
• Elevation: when you plan a route, points along that route are sent to Open-Meteo to look up their elevation. Results are cached on your device.
• No name, account, device identifier or health data is sent with these requests.
• Spotify (optional): if you connect Spotify, the app talks to the Spotify app on your iPhone to play and control music. Spotify's privacy policy applies to your Spotify account.

Health information

Health data is never used for advertising, never shared with third parties and never leaves your device except through Apple Health itself. Taper Coach gives general fitness guidance and is not a medical device or medical advice.

Children

Taper Coach is not directed to children under 13.

Your rights

Because we do not hold your data, there is nothing for us to access, correct or delete on a server: you control everything in the app. For any question, or to exercise your rights under the GDPR, write to the address above. You can also lodge a complaint with the Italian data protection authority (Garante per la protezione dei dati personali).

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with the update date at the top.
